Miss Hungary Beauty With a Purpose.

Equestrian therapy is a form of therapy that makes use of horses to help promote emotional growth. Equestrian therapy is particularly applied to patients with

ADD,

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder

anxiety,

autism,

dementia,

delay in mental development,

down syndrome

and other genetic syndromes,

depression,

trauma and brain injuries,

Behaviour and abuse issues

and other mental health issues

Equestrian or hippo therapy helps to improve confidence, balance, communication and build trust  and self-efficiency It  is also an effective technique for many therapists to teach troubled youth on how they should learn, react and follow instructions.

Our mission with this therapy has one purpose; to provide horsemanship experience to people with mental, physical and psychological disabilities in order to enhance the quality and productivity of their lives.

Horses are perfect physical and psychical therapists. They exactly feel your actual mood, or feelings, and they can reflect it, that is why they can help the conductors to identify the problems. Horses have the ability to respond immediately and react properly to the rider’s action or behaviour. Horses are also able to mirror the rider’s emotion.

Horses can also motivate children. Kids with behaviour issues tend to be reluctant to follow instructions coming from their parents, teachers, instructors - but they become willing and eager to do tasks in connection with horses because the horse becomes an ally for them. Somebody who needs THEIR help, help that only the kids can provide and this feeling of importance and responsibility towards an animal induces positive changes in the kid’s behaviour patterns towards others as well.

For this reason, Kids really enjoy delivering the tasks around horses while they don’t even notice that they participate in physical or psychological therapy

Introvert kids with difficulties in making relationships open up easier by playing with horses and that’s why it helps them open up towards everybody else.

We sometimes also deal with children who have disabilities.

Since the movement of the horse is similar to that of human body - riding a horse makes the pelvic area carry out the same rotating movement in the hips that one has to do for walking therefore if a child is wheel chair bound for instance, riding a horse feels like having legs to walk on. And by so they also can develop the confidence that they can do all those things that they anyway would not be able to do on their own.

In the video:

I guess many of you will agree with me if I say that without horses humanity would not be even near to where we are today. It was the horses that carried us and our properties over the centuries.

Now we are at the dawn of the 21st century and although we have modern technologies to support us, horses and animals are still in the centre of human life.  As friends, as family members, as sport partners and last but not least - as teachers and therapists!

Our trust is sometimes stronger towards animals than to humans. They do not expect anything from us, they do not criticize, the connection is pure love. That is why they are perfect for therapy.

Today we were working with children whom have behaviour issues and concentration problems. They are a bit hyperactive and because of this they have difficulties in school.

Horses can also motivate children. Kids with behaviour issues tend to be reluctant to follow instructions coming from their parents, teachers, instructors - but they become willing and eager to do tasks in connection with horses because the horse becomes an ally for them. Sometimes we have patients who are handled as serious cases, for example children whom are not able to walk.

The movement of the horse is similar to the movement of the human body, it repeats the same rotation movement in the hips the same back and force movements of the legs.

When a child is wheel chair bound for instance, riding a horse feels like they can do all those things that they cannot do on their own.

The first time I could witness a horse-therapy session was 5 years ago. When I saw the pure happiness on the face of the kids, straight away I’ve decided, that I’ll support this program.

My mission with this therapy has one purpose; To see pure smiles on children’s face.

I love kids, I love horses and I love to help. This triangle is my reason why chose this „hobby” for myself. Whenever I have some free time I make sure to come here and be a volunteer by the side of the therapist and help in any ways I can. It is an honour to be part of this amazing experience, and to feel the trust, happiness and the pure love of humans and animals

In the past good horses were supporters of famous public heroes. Today these horses are here for us to support personal heroes with their personal battles.
