The Cambridgeshire Regional Finals for Miss England were held at the weekend, and a charity auction on the night topped off a successful year for the county which raised in excess of £10,000 for the “Beauty With A Purpose” Charity.

21 year old dance teacher & fitness instructor Kirsty Bentley was crowned the winner on the night, at a show held just outside Newmarket. She also picked up the “Beauty With A Purpose” award having raised the most amount of money individually. A sponsored 5K run, dance-a-thon, band night and family fun day were ways in which she raised the cash.

This year’s representative for England at the Miss World event attended the evening, and spoke of the importance of the charity aspect of the competition. “It’s not just glitz and glamour, it’s hard work and it’s about raising lots of money for a charity that really needs it.” She said.
